Sightseeing Bus Statement Announced by Namtso Scenic Spot

In order to further improve Namtso scenic area environmental protection and tourist reception level, according to the latest documents from the Lhasa government, all vehicles in the scenic area are pure electric vehicles, which are managed by the tourist service center, other motor vehicles are not allowed to pass in the scenic area. The Namtso Lake scenic spot responds to the decision and deployment of the municipal party committee and the municipal government, and will open the pure electric bus as the only transportation vehicle carrying tourists in the scenic area.

Now the relevant matters are announced as follows:

1. Open area, landscape and route

The open area of the scenic spot is from Namtso visitor center (Namtso Lake village) to Tashi island (including lakeside wetland). 

2. Tour time and tour mode

The scenic spot is open in different periods, that is, the peak season from1st May to 31st October, from 6:00 to 20:00 every day;
The lower season from 1st November to 30th April next year, is open from 7:30 to 19:30 every day.
Tourists take sightseeing buses for sightseeing, which takes public bus mode. That is to say, tourists travel to the next scenic spot after visiting one scenic spot by bus until the end of the tour.

3. Price of environmental bus

Peak season: RMB 110 per person (1st May - 31st Oct)
Lower season: RMB 90 per person (1st Nov - 30th April)

4. Environmental bus execution time

The environmental bus is tentatively scheduled for one year, that is, from 1st Sep, 2019 to 31st Aug, 2020.

Thanks very much for your inquiry. Travelling to Tibet from Nepal, you need to apply for Chinese Group Visa in Kathmandu. Firstly, we'll apply for visa invitation letter with copy of your passport. Next, we'll send visa invitation letter to you and our partner in Kathmandu. When you arrive in Kathmandu, you need to meet with our partner and give them your original passport, then they will go to Chinese embassy and apply for Chinese Group Visa for you. When you board plane from Kathmandu to Lhasa, they'll only check your passport and Chinese Group Visa. Apart from Chinese Group Visa, you also need Tibet Permit, we'lll apply for Tibet Permit for you in Lhasa, and our guide will pick you up at Lhasa airport with your permit.
