Namtso in Winter
Since the heavy snowfall in the Namtso area of Tibet on October 8, the scenic spot has been suspended for the protection of tourists. On November 3, we learned from the Namtso Scenic Spot that the scenic spot will continue to be closed to the guests, and the specific opening hours are yet to be determined.
"When can I open it? Can I visit the Namtso Scenic Area now?" For the past month, visitors have been asking about when to open through multiple channels such as Weibo and scenic phone consultation, but the answers are not to receive tourists temporarily. On November 3, Namtso Scenic Spot Management issued a notice from Dangxiong County Tourism via Sina Vlog: due to the poor road conditions for the reconstruction and expansion of the Namtso road and the fact that there are many snow and ice weather in winter which may cause dangers of traffic safety. Taking into account the safety of tourists, the Namtso Scenic Area will continue to close to tourists since November 1, 2018. After the road condition improved, the opening time will be noticed.
At present, the mobile APP and WeChat ticketing platform have stopped selling tickets for the Namtso Scenic Area, and the shuttle bus to the Namtso Scenic Area have also been suspended. If citizens and tourists want to know the opening time, road conditions and weather of the scenic spot for the first time, you can call the hotline 0891- Consultation on 6110123 or 0891-6111111.

1. Are kids suitable (or even allowed) for this tour?
2. If kids can join, are there any discount deals for kids?
Dear Ms. Ho***,
Greetings from Helen at Budget Tibet Tour and welcome you to join our 10 days Mt. Everest & Namtso Lake group tour. For your questions: 1. Your kids are suitable for this tour. Travelling in Tibet is as safe for kids as it is for their parents. While the high Tibetan plateau may be the highest place on the planet, very often, the kids that visit this region are more adaptable and have fewer problems than their parents. We also have arranged wonderful Tibet tours for many families with kids such as a tour to EBC for a family with a 3-year-old son, a 9-year-old girl and a 11-year-old boy, they did have fun in Tibet and there is no problem for them. Or you can take some medicine under the guidance of doctor to prevent high altitude before enter Tibet. 2. If kids travel with you, we'll offer some discount for them, please check your email and find more detailed information. Thanks & Regards
